My best math project i have done so far this year is probably the sports bag design project. I think it is an intresting project and as well as a little challenging for me and my partner. What we had to do was figure out the volume and surface area of a basketball to create a sportsbag that could fit 3 basketballs while letting theme stay snug while being able to get them out easily. It took us all the time offered to complete this which was roughly about 2 weeks. I think challenging projects can motavate you and boost up your learning and skill process which is why i liked this one.

 

What me and my partner had to do was mesure a balls width and heigth. Once that was done we found the balls radius which is half of its width and we used its height plus the width to get are volume. Once done with volume we had to find surface area, this is where things got tricky. Once we found it which took a long time we where able to calculate the length width and height of are bag. Are bags totally width was 20 inchs while are height was also 20 inchs while are length was 30 inchs. The only thing i feel we could do better is deign it better into a bag and shape no one has seen yet but are rough sketch looks pretty ok.
